What is the Ambassador Family Program?

The Ambassador Family Program began in 1987 to support to families battling pediatric cancer.  At the beginning of each calendar year, hospital Child Life Specialist recommend families who they think will benefit most from the program.  We realize that our Ambassadors are not the only ones impacted by cancer, so the program focuses on the whole family!  There are events through out the year geared toward supporting these families as a unit, with the added benefit of allowing them to connect with other families face similar circumstances.

The events include things like professional and semi-professional sporting events, picnics, fishing tournaments, carnivals, and an annual reunion with all past Ambassadors.  Our team ensures that each activity will accommodate any special need a family has and that it’s enjoyable for everyone involved!

Families that are interested in participating in the program are encouraged to talk with their hospital’s Child Life Specialist or reach out to us directly at pr@wokc.org.
